CSA Chef Training Program

The Just Food Network is offering a CSA chef-training program this June!

The workshop will teach you how to conduct your own CSA cooking demonstration. It would be fun to have at least one representative from the Neighborhood School CSA participate!

To attend, it costs $50-150 (on a sliding scale), plus a $15 materials fee.

Those who are accepted can attend a training either on Saturday, June 4 from 9am – 5pm or Saturday, June 18th from 9am – 5pm. Both will take place at the Sixth Street Community Center at 638 East Sixth Street (between Avenue B & C).

The application can be downloaded at http://www.justfood.org/community-food-education/csa-chef-application.

You can email us with any questions!

Hello I really love what you guys are doing it is really great. I was wondering if there was any way to contact the Angel Family Farm directly I want to ask them a few questions on how they got started. She said something in the movie about seeing something on TV that gave her the idea. I want to talk to her because my family and I also want to do something like this, we currently live in St. Paul Minnesota and want to start doing it here. Thank you for your help hope you can help me. Keep up the great work.

Hi Eduardo! That’s great to hear you’re thinking about starting up your own farm! The program Ana referenced in the movie is the New Farmers Development Program. This is an organization that specifically helps agriculturally-experienced immigrants get their farms started. To learn more about the NFDP, you can check out this website: Grow NYC. Also, I will pass on your email to the Angel Family so they can contact you and answer whatever questions you may have.

We wish you all the best with your farm!
